I've also been lucky enough to "grow up" as an athlete surrounded by experienced athletes. Coaches would say, "get in a quick workout that's slightly anaerobic without taxing your system". My experiences say, when I'm in for a race when I don't know if I've done everything right and I just go for it, I usually have a better performance. When I go into a race thinking that I have to do everything right I'm too conservative. Chica, this is your first season, what better time to make your mistakes/find out about yourself? It's clear that you read a lot of blogs and books and stuff. Really, it's not that hard, you already know the difference between good hurt and bad hurt. Listen to your body, listen closely. You got it all under control. The important thing is that you chill out and have fun in your training AND racing. Just go kick some booty! No Wetsuit Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12469623491199183549noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-636567097339297046.post-76139953583260715152007-08-31T18:09:00.000-05:002007-08-31T18:09:00.000-05:00Yes, you are doing it! Each day it gets better, so I am hoping tomorrow it will be ready to go. That being said, take it easy on your workout today. I was cruising 8 min/mile when it started to hurt, so I know I was pushing too hard.

Good luck tomorrow!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-636567097339297046.post-1266720309848140052007-08-31T13:13:00.000-05:002007-08-31T13:13:00.000-05:00Have a fun day tomorrow, and I do mean fun.
